Suppression lists ensure you never accidentally email someone who has unsubscribed, bounced, or marked your messages as spam. DreamFlow automatically maintains these lists, but you can also manually add or remove contacts.
Steps
- Navigate to Marketing > Campaigns and click the Suppressions tab.
- You will see three automatic lists:
- Unsubscribed — contacts who clicked the unsubscribe link in any campaign
- Bounced — email addresses that returned a hard bounce
- Spam Complaints — contacts who marked your email as spam
- To manually suppress a contact (e.g., a competitor or internal address), click Add to Suppression and enter the email address.
- To remove someone from a suppression list (e.g., they re-subscribed), find the contact and click Unsuppress. This only works for manually-added suppressions. Unsubscribes require the contact to re-opt-in.
- When creating a campaign, DreamFlow automatically filters out all suppressed contacts. The campaign preview shows the Excluded Count so you can verify.
Warning
Never manually remove someone from the Unsubscribed list unless they have explicitly asked to receive emails again. Ignoring unsubscribes violates CAN-SPAM and GDPR regulations and can result in your sending domain being blacklisted.
