If you are having trouble making or receiving calls in DreamFlow, check these common causes to restore your calling capability.
Common Causes
- No phone number provisioned -- You need an active DreamFlow phone number to make calls.
- Browser microphone permission denied -- DreamFlow needs microphone access for browser-based calls.
- Browser compatibility -- Some older browsers do not support WebRTC calling.
- Monthly call usage limit reached -- Your call minutes may be exhausted.
- Network issues -- Poor internet connection or firewall blocking WebRTC traffic.
How to Fix
1. Check phone number
- Go to Settings > Phone Numbers.
- Verify you have an active number with voice capability.
- If not, click Get a Number and choose one with voice enabled.
2. Grant microphone permission
- When DreamFlow asks for microphone access, click Allow.
- If you previously denied it:
- Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar > Site settings > Microphone > Allow.
- Firefox: Click the lock icon > Connection secure > More information > Permissions > Microphone > Allow.
- Safari: Safari > Preferences > Websites > Microphone > set DreamFlow to Allow.
- Reload the page after changing permissions.
3. Use a supported browser
DreamFlow's calling works best on:
- Google Chrome (latest)
- Microsoft Edge (latest)
- Firefox (latest)
- Safari 14.1+
4. Check usage limits
- Go to Settings > Billing > Usage.
- Check your call minutes allocation.
- Purchase additional minutes or upgrade your plan if needed.
5. Check network connection
- Ensure your internet connection is stable (minimum 1 Mbps upload and download).
- If on a corporate network, check with IT that WebRTC traffic is not blocked by the firewall.
- Try switching from WiFi to a wired connection for better call quality.
Tip
Use headphones with a built-in microphone for the best call quality. Laptop microphones can pick up ambient noise and cause echo.
