SMS templates are pre-written text messages you can reuse across conversations. Instead of typing the same appointment confirmation or follow-up message over and over, save it as a template and insert it with one click.
Creating an SMS Template
- Navigate to Tools > Templates in the sidebar.
- Click Create Template and select SMS as the type.
- Give your template a name (e.g., "Appointment Reminder").
- Write your message. Use merge fields like {{first_name}} to personalize each message.
- Click Save.
Using Templates in Conversations
- Open an SMS conversation in Communicate > SMS.
- Click the Templates button (lightning bolt icon) in the message composer.
- Select a template from the list. It will be inserted into the text field.
- Edit if needed, then click Send.
Tip
Keep SMS templates short and actionable. Unlike emails, text messages work best when they are under 160 characters and have a clear call to action.
